Craig Conover and Naomi Olindo were once inseparable and now the two can barely stand to be in the same room with each other. The Southern Charm hunk is reflecting on the dark place he went after his split with the woman he once thought he was going to marry.
It was just a few seasons ago when Craig and Naomi moved into her parent’s house together and the aspiring lawyer made his girlfriend cry happy tears by gifting her a promise ring. The exes entire last season storyline of the Bravo hit revolved around their lingering feelings and bitterness towards one another.
The newest installment is painting Craig in a new light. A totally zen mature adult who just returned from the Bahamian islands.
After Olindo moved on to another love, Craig found himself having to get out of town to work on his mental health. He opened up to People about the crippling depression he slipped into.
‘I’ve never been depressed before, and I didn’t understand it. I didn’t know how bad it was until I got on the other side. I was living in shambles and that’s how I was feeling, too. It was bad, I’m not going to lie.’
Once the reality star went to Bimini and experienced a cleansing, he started to see the light again.
‘I just felt happiness. The energy down there was awesome. I wasn’t in a horrible spot, I just was happy for the first time in a while. I just felt healthy. And it was there that I read about depression and realized I shared basically all of the symptoms and the problems with it. It was because of the breakup and the year of you know, the tumultuous relationship that I was feeling this way. So I flew back home, packed up two massive suitcases, and returned for another two months.’

It’s great to see that not only is Craig being honest about the hardship he went through but that he made it back to the other side.
